I am in love with cookie dough but it’s not a good thing to eat it raw. So, this is a recipe for safe cookie dough that won’t get you sick. Plus, little Miley is allergic to eggs so this recipe is safe for her too. Enjoy!

2 Minute Edible Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2/3 cup Flour
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 4 tbsp softened Butter
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla 2.jpg

Directions:

  1. Heat flour in microwave for 2 minutes (internal temp 160).
  2. Mix together brown sugar, butter, vanilla and salt until well mixed. 3.jpg
  3. Add in milk and gradually add flour until desired dough consistensy is reached.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips.

I was excited that I had all these ingredients on hand so I whipped up a batch real quick. It was so good! I had some blueberries that needed to be used so I threw them in too. Delicious and easy!

Actually, raw flour is potentially dangerous, too. 🙁

Really a shame how our foods have become so poisonous through the years. We used to eat raw meat, raw cookie dough, raw eggs, drink raw milk and whatever else raw we wanted as a kid and never…I mean NEVER got sick from it.
With all the despicable ways the government has allowed our foods to be grown and processed, we are in worse shape than we were the years before refrigeration was developed. It’s a pity our own kids can’t enjoy their foods like we did.

Probably why they have you heat the flour in microwave for 2 mins

That’s why you heat-treat the flour in the microwave….to kill the bacteria.

YUM!!! This looks amazing. My hubby is a cookie dough-aholic, but the raw eggs are no good. So, this is a great alternative! So excited to try this! I didn’t know raw flour was bad for you, is that why you heated it up? I’m visiting from Fabulously frugal thursday linky party! 🙂

It’s probably best to bake the flour instead of using the microwave, just put it on a cookie sheet and put into the oven. When you cook the flour, it is no longer dangerous to eat in the cookie dough.

I once did this for 121 seconds and monkeys broke into the kitchen and started using my sippy cups. I also tell users only on this thread not to heat ingredients up in the microwave. (I actually had water start to bubble this one time…) Terrible. Just terrible.

Was the bowl cold before it went in there? Was it a Pyrex? I read that can happen from extreme temperature changes?

I believe they have mint chocolate chips you can buy at Walmart. Or even Andes mint chocolate would work, I would think.

Raw flour is generally safe to eat. There are no specific recommendations on heating flour before eating it like there are for other raw foods like eggs and meats. Not sure where the whole raw flour bacteria thing came from but it’s a myth.

Tastes great, but I recommend letting the flour cool a bit first. My chocolate chips melted when I mixed them in. Still yummy though!
