4 Ways To Clean Jewelry At Home
Jewelry is a really important and special thing to most people. Whether it be a hand me down from a relative or a few pieces you picked up at your favorite store, you always want to make sure your jewelry is clean and well taken care of. You can easily buy store bought cleaners and solutions to clean your jewelry, however there are a few ways you can do it yourself at home. Check out the 4 ways below and start cleaning your jewelry at home:
- Alka-Seltzer: Simply combine a glass of water with a Alka-Seltzer tablet and drop in your jewelry. Let soak and rinse once dirt has surfaced. While this won’t deep clean your items, it will remove any surface marks, dirt or grime.
- Light Beer: Yes, it’s true beer really can clean jewelry! This method is for gold with no stones and any other jewelry you are looking to clean. Simply, pour a small amount of light better on a non abrasive cloth and rub gently where dirt and grime is showing. Finish the process by drying with a soft cloth.
- Aluminum Foil: This method is best for silver items. Make a small bowl out of tinfoil and lay out silver jewelry on tinfoil. Sprinkle baking soda over top of the items and then proceed to pour boiling water over the baking soda. Move the jewelry around slightly to release any dirt. Once finished, rinse with cold water.
- Toothpaste: Toothpaste is a perfect cleaner for anything that has diamonds on it or in it! Grab an old toothbrush and toothpaste and scrub slightly around the diamonds and in between the crevices. Once you have scrubbed simply clean off the ring with a damp cloth.
