There is nothing worse than experiencing a stomach ache and having no idea how to fix it! Stomach aches can be a tough thing to combat and for some people it’s something they deal with everyday. But luckily there are a handful of solutions to help remedy the ache and most can be found in your local grocery store. Check out the list below for 5 remedies for stomach aches.

  1. Hydration: Hydration couldn’t be more important when you have a sore stomach. Make sure you are drinking as much water as possible to keep your body hydrated. This will also help to flush out your body and remedy the pain.
  2. Ginger: Whether it be ginger tea or natural ginger straight from the supermarket, it will help! Ginger is a great way to minimize stomach pain as it eases the digestion system and works away at any pain or ache.  You can even go as far as chewing directly on ginger for instant relief.
  3. Peppermint: Peppermint is another great alterative when you are experiencing stomach aches. The added bonus is that it will also help aid any cramping pain. You can chew on a mint leaf or steep mint into a cup of tea, either will help settle the stomach and take the ache away.
  4. Baking Soda: As unappetizing as baking soda sounds, it is an old but effective remedy to cure stomach aches. Simply mix one teaspoon into a glass of warm water and drink. This will have a similar effect as Alka-Seltzer, but won’t cost you nearly as much as you would pay retail.
  5. Licorice:  When we talk about licorice for stomach ache remedies we are not talking about Twizzlers.  However, Licorice tea or a licorice supplement has been known to offer a ton of relief when you are in pain from a stomach ache.

    Another good one for a quesy tummy is Fresh Papaya or from the health food/vitamin aisle some papaya enzyme tablets.
