When you think about repurposing or re using a burnt out lightbulb, you may be short on ideas. Most times we look at items like this and toss it without a second thought. But burnt out lightbulbs have some really cute, crafty uses that can really bring out your creative side! It doesn’t take much work to take something as normal as a lightbulb and turn it in to something beautiful. Check out these 5 uses below to start creating cute projects using burnt out lightbulbs:
- Vase: It may not be your first thought, but lightbulbs make perfect sized vases for small flower arrangements. Find a small circle or lid to stabilize the bottom of the lightbulb and remove the metal top and any inside pieces. Add rocks or sand, water and your small flowers for a custom vase.
- Terrarium: Terrarium’s are becoming a very popular and make it easy to bring plants and greenery inside. Clean out the lightbulb of all its insides and start building your mini plant world. Add moss, grass, rocks or even succulent plants to complete your terrarium.
- Christmas Ornaments: With a little glitter, glue and creativity you can design your own Christmas ornaments. Simply, use wire or string and attach it to the top of the light bulb, decorate it any way you like and let dry. Once it’s dry it can be hung as a decoration on the tree or around the house!
- DIY Oil Lamp: You heard us right! You can take an old lightbulb and turn it into a full functioning oil lamp. It will take some elbow grease and a few materials, but once it’s finished it will be modern and practical.
- Ship In A Bottle: Whether it be decorations for a nautical themed party or a cute add on to your bathroom, this project is a must! You can create a custom ship or letter in a bottle using an old lightbulb and a few accessories. Add some blue tinted sand to represent the blue water for the ship or write a love note and pop it in for a fun surprise!
