November 30, 2013 at 8:22 pmThis elf is adorable, and by far the most popular…but we have the Elf Magic elves at our house. The premise is the same…they come and stay after Thanksgiving/December 1/whenever you choose. Their job is to report to Santa nightly about the childrens behavior that day. The children put magic snowflakes on them before going to bed and then the elves wake up and do something funny! (You can customize this however you want…some elves are naughty, some sweet, some just funny…you will see there are MANY different ways for your elf to behave. Anyway, the biggest difference that I like is that there is no rule about not touching the elf. The Elf Magic elves can be played with and my kids love them…they take them everywhere during December. Anyway, there is a website for them…cute alternative!

November 12, 2013 at 12:56 amThe Elf on the Shelf comes into your home to keep watch on the kids for Santa. He only comes to life at night while the kids are sleeping. They aren’t allowed to touch them or the magic wears off. Every day the elf moves and the kids need to go see what mischief he’s got in.
