I’ve been wanting to make these with the kiddos for awhile and finally got them up! These Reindeer Root Beer gifts are super, super cute and easy to make! These are perfect for gifts as well as fun snacks for the kiddos. You can use root beer for a kid-friendly version or try out some beer (they make the funnest packages that make these even cuter) to take to a Christmas or Holiday party. 😉

Root Beer Reindeer

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 Pack Bottled Root Beer
  • 12 Wiggly Eyes
  • 6 Red Pom Poms (1/4″)
  • 9 Brown Pipe Cleaners
  • Ribbon for Scarves (optional)
  • Glue (either E6000 or Hot Glue)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Glue eyes on bottle neck.
  2. Glue red pom pom nose just below eyes.
  3. Take 3 pipe cleaners and cut them in half, then cut each of these halves in half.
  4. Wrap a pipe cleaner just below the bottle cap and twist in the back and bring ends up to make main antlers.
  5. Take one of the quarter pipe cleaners and twist it about 1 1/4″ from end each main antler.
  6. Repeat this process for each bottle.
  7. If you would like, cut a piece of ribbon and wrap like a scarf around the bottle. Use a dab of glue to hold together.
  8. NOTE: If you use the E6000, it needs to set for awhile before it will be tacky enough to stick to bottle.

How To Make A Homemade Ice Pack

Let’s face it…Injuries happen and when they do we want to be prepared for it. One really important item that almost everyone has used once is an ice pack. Now you can get ones traditionally sold in store, but with those come a few issues. Some aren’t very flexible when you have a hard to reach injury, sometimes they don’t stay cold for long and most of all some of them just aren’t effective. So what’s the best way to solve this issue? Well you can start by making your own ice pack that is perfectly catered to you! Check out the instructions below:

Supplies:

  • Ziploc Bag (Use the size that is best for you)
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Water

Directions:

  1. Start by choosing your Ziploc bag. You want to pick the size best suited to your injury.
  2. Add 1 part water to 3 parts rubbing alcohol to the bag and zip close.
  3. Place bag in freezer.
  4. Once cold, remove and use!
  5. The best part about this is the bag will never completely harden so it will mold to your injury.
