It’s always so much fun coming up with unique and delicious holiday cupcakes. These Firecracker cupcakes are perfect for the 4th of July, Memorial day, etc. These would also be super cute for a bake sale and I’m sure you’d sell a ton! They are really easy to make and the kiddos love eating and making them.
You may be shocked at how I get the frosting to come out the way it is in the pictures. There’s is a secret little tip that makes them just gorgeous! Enjoy…
Firecracker Vanilla Cupcakes
INGREDIENTS
Cupcakes:
- 2 cup Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup softened Butter
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Frosting:
- 1 cup softened Butter
- 3 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1-2 tbsp Milk
- Red and Blue Gel Coloring
- Twizzlers Peel and Pull Candies
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Line muffin pan with liners.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla
- Add in flour mixture and milk gradually alternating between them.
- Fill each liner 2/3 full and bake for 18 minutes of until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
- Allow to cool.
- Whip butter, vanilla and gradually add powdered sugar.
- Add milk until you reach desired consistency.
- Prepare a piping bag and fold the bag down over a cup.
- Using a toothpick draw several red and blue lines up the sides of the bag (this is the secret tip to making the cool looking frosting)
- Transfer frosting to piping bag and frost each cupcake.
- Cut twizzlers into approximately 2″ pieces and insert in middle peeling a little at the top for effect.

Red White & Blue Jell-O Cups (4th of July Recipe)

The fun thing about this recipe is that you can make it kid friendly or adult friendly by adding in some alcohol and making “jello shots”. We like to make it kid friendly for the kiddos since they enjoy these treats on the 4th so below you will find the alcohol free version!

Red White & Blue Jell-O Cups
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Blue Jell-O Gelatin (like 3 oz package Berry Blue)
- 1 Red Jell-O Gelatin (like 3 oz package Cherry)
- 1 envelope Unflavored Gelatin (like Knox)
- 1 1/3 cups boiling Water
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- Maraschino Cherries drained
DIRECTIONS:
- If you can find a tall shot glasses they will work best, but any clear glass will do.
- Place blue gelatin in a bowl and add 2/3 cup boiling water.
- Stir well until dissolved and allow to cool.
- Fill each cup 1/3 full of blue and place in refrigerator.
- Add 1/3 cup of milk to another bowl and sprinkle unflavored gelatin over top.
- Heat remaining 2/3 cup of milk to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in sugar to dissolve.
- Add heated milk to gelatin/milk mixture and stir until blended.
- Allow to cool.
- Gently fill all cups the next 1/3 of the way with white mixture and return to refrigerator.
- Place red gelatin in a bowl and add 2/3 cup boiling water.
- Stir well until dissolved and allow to cool.
- Place a cherry on top of each glass and add about 1/4″ of red gelatin to each.
- Place in refrigerator for 5 minutes.
- Pull from refrigerator and try to adjust to get stems to point upward.
- Fill each cup the rest of the way with red and place in refrigerator.

Looking for a 4th of July recipe?! If so, you will love this next one. I love making Summer drinks and this next drink recipe is perfect for 4th of July or Memorial Day! It’s super easy to make and only takes 3 ingredients. Not only is it super fun, it’s really tasty too! Enjoy!
Red White Blue Layered Drink
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Cranapple Juice
- 1 cup Sobe Elixir Pina Colada
- 1 cup Blue G2 Gatorade
DIRECTIONS:
- Make sure all ingredients are well chilled.
- Fill glass 1/4 of way with ice.
- Fill with cranapple juice just to 1/3 way up.
- Place in freezer for 30 minutes or until ice layer has formed on red layer.
- Fill to top with ice
- Gently fill with pina colada by pouring over the back of a spoon to 2/3 way up.
- Place in freezer for 20 minutes or until ice layer has formed on white layer.
- Gently fill with G2 by pouring over the back of a spoon rest of way up.

Need a refreshing drink this Summer?! This Sonic copycat drink is super easy to make and the kiddos love helping out. You really don’t need that many ingredients…I love the coconut extract! I also like to add swedish fish if it’s for the kids since you are making “ocean water”. Enjoy this delicious treat!
Copycat Sonic Ocean Water
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 tbsp Water
- 3 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Coconut Extract
- 4 drop Blue Food Coloring
- 24 oz Sprite
- Ice
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine water and sugar in microwavable bowl.
- Microwave for 45 seconds and stir to create a simple syrup.
- Allow to cool, then add food coloring and coconut extract.
- Mix well.
- Add syrup to cold Sprite and serve over ice.

Red White and Blue Ice Cream Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 1 cup softened Butter
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- 2 cup Flour
- 1/2 cup Red and Blue M&Ms
- Ice Cream
- Red and White Sprinkles (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter and powdered sugar.
- Slowly add flour and continue mixing until dough forms.
- Dust work surface with powdered sugar.
- Roll out dough to about 1/4″ thick and cut out circles
- Place on prepared sheets.
- Reroll as necessary to make additional circles.
- Top each cookie with red and blue M&Ms.
- Bake 13-14 minutes or until they are pale golden color.
- Allow to cool on baking sheets.
- Set out ice cream to soften slightly.
- Place one scoop of ice cream on a cookie. Press another cookie gently on top to make a sandwich.
- You can optionally roll the edge of the sandwich in sprinkles.
- Place in freezer to set.

These Oreo’s are dipped and colored for 4th of July but you could easily do this for any Holiday. It’s so easy to make these delicious treats and they are super cute for a Summer or 4th of July party! Enjoy and let the kiddos help out. 😉
Red White & Blue Dipped Oreos
Ingredients:
- 24 Oreos
- 4 oz White Melting Candy
- 2 oz Red Melting Candy
- 2 oz Blue Melting Candy
Directions:
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt white candy by heating in microwave for 30 seconds, then stirring and repeating until melted and smooth.
- Dip each cookie in white chocolate and flip to coat. Remove from chocolate allowing excess to drip off and place on lined sheet.
- Allow to set for 15 minutes.
- You can take a knife and shave any excess off of cookies to keep nice shape.
- Melt red candy by heating in microwave for 30 seconds, then stirring and repeating until melted and smooth.
- Dip each cookie in red chocolate to coat one end. Allow excess to drip off and place back on lined sheet.
- Allow to set for 15 minutes.
- Melt blue candy by heating in microwave for 30 seconds, then stirring and repeating until melted and smooth.
- Dip each cookie in blue chocolate to coat opposite end. Allow excess to drip off and place back on lined sheet.
- Allow to set for 15 minutes.

Spangled Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen Banana
- 1 cup Vanilla Yogurt
- 1/2 cup frozen Cherries
- 1/2 cup frozen Blueberries
- 1 cup Acai Juice
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1 1/2 cup Ice
Directions:
- In a blender, combine 1/4 banana, 1/4 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup cherries, 1/2 cup acai juice and 1/2 cup ice.
- Blend until smooth and divide among 3-4 glasses. Be careful to keep sides of glass clean.
- Place in freezer for 30 minutes to help keep layers separate.

Here is a delicious popsicle recipe but this is a unique recipe because it uses pudding! The pudding makes these popsicles taste really good and full of flavor. Just follow the simple directions below to make these colored popsicles which are perfect for 4th of July!
Patriotic Pudding Pops
(Yields 5 3 oz pudding pops)
Ingredients:
- 1 box White Chocolate Jell-O Instant Pudding
- 2 cup Milk
- Red and Blue Food Coloring
Directions:
- Mix milk and pudding in bowl for 2 minutes.
- Divide into 3 equal portions.
- Color 1 portion red with about 15 drops of food coloring.
- Color 1 portion blue with about 15 drops of food coloring.
- Transfer each color to a zippered sandwich bag.
- Clip the corner of the blue and pipe it equally into the bottom of 5 3 oz Dixie cups.
- Lift and gently tap each cup on the counter to level up the pudding.
- Repeat this process with the white and then red colors.
- Insert a popsicle stick in the middle of each cup and place in freezer for 4-5 hours or until firm.
