Yummy! I love anything to do with the crock pot and this next recipe is a perfect comfort food made in the crock pot. Soup is always good throughout the year but especially in the winter. I also love how easy this is to make. You basically just throw everything into the slow cooker and you have a delicious and hearty meal. Enjoy.. (You can print it out at the very bottom).

Did a cheater version of this on the stovetop with canned beans, really good !
Your soup sounds delicious! Thanks for linking up for Friday Favorites. I’m featuring you this week!
This actually turned out really well but it makes A LOT of soup. This filled my crockpot up (standard size crock pot) to the very top. I moved it into an electric roasting pan after a couple of hours because I was afraid it was going to overflow. Also ended up adding quite a bit of extra liquid, possibly because it was in a roaster which is less airtight than a crockpot. Next time I’ll probably cut recipe in half.
Trying this recipe today. It’s been cooking for about three house already and the liquid is pretty low. Is that normal? The beans aren’t covered any more. Thanks! 🙂
Did you mean to say that you need 4 RIBS of Celery? 4 Stalks seem like an awful lot of celery for this recipe.
Same happened to me. Even though it was in my crock for over 10 hrs, the beans not completely covered, were not cooked all the way through. I ended up adding another 4 cups or so of liquid to make it “soup”.
If you soak beans in water the night before they will absorb the water so then you will have plenty liquid in your soup .And also it will cook quicker
