I signed up! So excited! I forgot to re-sign up after losing access to my last email! I also shared!

A coupon tip that I recently started doing is making my list before I go looking at my coupons. It makes it so I am not getting things I don’t need or things the kids wont eat. I used to get coupons for the already cheap stuff and we still have stuff we haven’t eaten.

Another one that I saw a long time ago, maybe here, but realized some people still don’t know is, use your Store card (Mine is Winn-dixie) AFTER your coupons. You don’t get to use the coupon most times after the card price!! Just today I had to get a big load of groceries and went from 254$…coupons down to 199$ and then card down to 143$ plus I get 1.65 (so far) off of my next gas fill up! (I know those aren’t amazing numbers like I see here, but for me and how much we need, it is amazing!)

Something that I find very useful to know is that if you are on food stamps and plan to use coupons remember that using coupons will make it so you have to pay for the tax, so that being said, make sure you carry some cash with you so you don’t get stuck or anything.

Stay organized, know when your coupons expire as well as knowing each stores coupon policies. The best way I have found to do that is to print a copy of their policy usually from their sites online and keeping them in a binder or folder of some sort.

  197. Stacy says

My tip for couponers is that if you buy an item, that is doesn’t hurt to open it up and see if there are any coupons hidden in the package. I’m already a subscriber to your e-mail list and I love the notifications! One thing to think about when you’re using coupons–don’t just buy something because you have a coupon. Research where and when it will be on sale and plan on making your purchases at that time. A stockpile is important because then you won’t be missing the food you need simply because it’s not on your list for that week.

  212. Jen S says

I’m already signed up for your Daily Deal and have “like”d Raining Hot Coupons for a long time. One thing I find very helpful for a big shopping trip is using a “Shopping Cart Cover” that is made for babies. It covers the entire front area (child seat area) so that no coupons will slip through the cracks.

  234. Katie says

I subscribed and everything. I don’t really think I have a coupon tip that isn’t listed. I’m very new to couponing and this website really helps me figure out how I can get good deals. My problem is finding the time to coupon as I have a 5 month old and a 2.5 year old! I’m a busy momma!!

I printed out one recently for Glad trash bags that I will not use before it expires so I seen a lady at the store with trash bags in her cart so I passed it on :)

a coupon tip of mine is snag a lot of coupon you know you will use throughout the year that has a late coupon expiration, and use every time you need that product. i did this for jello pudding my store had a bunch of coupon and you could just pick up, tear off the booklet, and i got ten and used it in the year.

Tip: Always bring your coupons with you, you never know when you will find an un-advertized sale that you can match up with a coupon!

  260. Kanesha S. says

I signed up and my coupon tip to everyone is watch out for stackable coupons and sales on those items. I go online and look at sale ads (WalMart, Kroger, and Harps) and see what all is on sale then write it down on an index card with the coupon to that item attached with a paper clip. I try to organize index cards with all items that I know can be found in one location (store, aisle, freezer section, etc.). It makes things go a lot quicker for me when checking out and I find some awesome deals.

I’ve been an e-mail subscriber for a long time. I also liked you on FB a long time ago. My tip is to not let the coupon inserts get too stacked up before you decide to tackle them. I’m currently 3 weeks behind and I’m dreading all the cutting because I got lazy and let the sit!

  282. Tonya says

I signed up for e-mails, shared the post, and already like you on Facebook. My tip: The best way to know what coupons YOU have, is to make a simple excel spreadsheet. I have description, amount, location, and expiration date as my categories. It takes a bit to set up, but the upkeep is only about 1/2 – 1 hour a week, and it easily allows you to search for a certian coupon without digging through your binders. It makes finding and weeding out expireds easy too. LOVE Julep!! Thanks for this opportunity!

  283. Jessica says

Did it! Take your coupons with you to the store in a reusable bag just in case you stumble upon something you didn’t see in the sale paper.. saves some grief when you know you have the coupon laying at home!

Yay! Love these giveaways! As always, I’m already subscribed and have “liked” you on Facebook….now my coupon tip of the day: Never be ashamed to reach out to particular companies and ask if they have any coupons available. We did this with Heinz once because my family just DRINKS ketchup (ok, maybe not that intense, but…), and they sent us a bunch of high-value coupons for a number of their products.

  292. Jacqueline Sayers says

I am a daily e-mail subscriber. Tip for couponing take all coupon booklets that are alike, placing them side by side, go through tearing each like page, place in a pile, proceed to the next page tearing all the same page, place those pages opposite direction, then you can quickly and efficiently grab the same page one time and cut like coupons just once instead of individually.

  293. Bridget Heiple Reich says

Do not be afraid to invest in a printer so that you are able to print online coupons. You do not have to print them in color; black and white coupons are accepted everywhere I shop. You will quickly recoup the cost of the printer (and then some!) with all of your savings!

  312. Judy says

I already get your daily emails. Thanks for all the great coupons, freebies & deals. Tip: Check daily for great coupons & offers from the best site on the web & FB RAINING HOT COUPONS!!! I like & follow you on FB.

  313. Nina says

I signed up, like the page and the coupon tip i have is one we all have heard before.. do not use a coupon just because it is about to expire!! If there isnt a good sale/deal to go along with it you are probably better off to throw it away . Dont use it just to keep from throwing it out

  314. danielle says

i signed up for the daily deals emails! One of the problems i see ppl run into all the time is the different policies at stores. i know when i first started i got very frustrated with how each store can be different. so her is my coupon tip….The best way to approach learning how to use coupons in YOUR area is to try to get a copy of the coupon policy for your local store. Ask at the customer service counter and they may have a copy to give you. If they don’t have one to give to you, they should at least have a printed copy that you can read at the counter. This eliminates any confusion or frustration when trying to get those great deals! Love your site and appreciate your dedication on helping others find these great offers. you are a blessing!

  315. Denise C says

Coupon tip: swap w friends, and when you’re in the store with the pop up machines, grab an extra even if you don’t use it, your friend will!

  316. Sephanie a says

Shared on facebook! Coupon tip; Don’t buy something that is a great
deal unless you actually will use it! Its great to donate but
sometimes that .50 could have been spent better elsewhere!

  317. Vania says

I have signed up for the Daily Deal email. One coupon tip is to ask all of your friends, family, associates, and neighbors if they get the Sunday paper and use the coupon inserts. If not, most people will give them to you to use when shopping. This is a free way to get more inserts.

  318. says

My daughter and I make couponing a time to shop together. She holds the coupons and helps gather the products. Not only am I getting to spend time with my daughter, but it is also a training thing too, to be able to teach her to save money and have a small stockpile to help when finances are low or you see someone in need. What a blessing to be able to help others!
