Want to use a Weekly Savings Plan to save a pretty good chunk of change by putting away a minimal amount each week….starting at just $1.00 in week one?! See the plan in the image below. The photo and plan shows how putting away little money away each week can add up to a considerable amount.

Here’s a tip from reader Terika, how about trying this backwards and starting out with $52 a week and going down so each week you put less and less away (so less near Christmas  and almost like paying down a bill, much more satisfaction at the end)! Thanks for the idea Terika!  icon smile Easy Weekly Savings Plan (Starts at Just $1 a Week and Adds Up FAST!)

It’s a pretty easy concept and can really help you to save a lot of moola. This is a great way to have money at the end of the year for Christmas, Vacation, or just as a safety net!

Also, if you have a little more money to spare, consider doing this plan for each kid or doubling it for double the end result.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup grated soap
4 cups water
1/2 Tbs vegetable glycerin (optional: used as a hand moisturizer)
10-20 drops of tea tree oil (anti-bacterial) if you like the smell you can add more if not add the lesser.

Directions: Grate bar of soap. In a saucepan add water and 1/2 cup grated soap. Over low/medium heat gently heat without bringing to a boil until all the soap has dissolved. Add in vegetable glycerin and stir well. Place in a jar. After cooling for a short time (30 minutes to an hour) add in tea tree oil and allow to set up for 24 hours, stirring occasionally.

Being a couponer, I’m sure you have some extra tubes of toothpaste lying around the house! Check out the top 5 ways  you can use toothpaste to clean just about anything around the house and it even helps to relieve pains from burns and more! This is so neat!

1. Relieve irritation from bug bites, sores, and blisters – Apply a drop of toothpaste to a bug bite or insect sting to stop the itching and decrease any swelling. When applied to sores or blisters, it dries them up, thus allowing the wound to heal faster. It’s best when used overnight.

2. Clean up your fingernails – For cleaner, shinier, and stronger nails, simply scrub the underneath and tops of fingernails with a toothbrush and toothpaste.

3. Keep Hair in Place – If you’re looking to style and hold an extreme hair creation, try gel toothpaste as your go-to product if you’re out of regular hair gel.

4. Remove Carpet Stains – This is so simple and so cost effective! Just apply toothpaste to the stain and scrub it with an abrasive brush, then rinse immediately.

5. Add Sparkle and Shiny to your rusty and tarnished silver jewelry – Have some tarnished or rusty silver jewelry lying around? Rub toothpaste onto jewelry and leave overnight. Wipe clean with a soft cloth in the morning. Make sure you rinse all traces of toothpaste!

There are several ways you can use toothpaste to save money on expensive cleaning and personal care products! Head here to read 10 more ways to use toothpaste! I bet some of them will surprise you! icon wink 5 New and Unexpected Ways to Use Toothpaste!

Household cleaners and bathroom scrubs can be expensive….that’s why I love this next tip!

Did you know…

You can cut a grapefruit in half and add salt to your tub, sink, toilet then use the grapefruit to scrub. The juices in the fruit will help break up dirt and grime and the salt will help scrub through all of it!

Also, Grapefruit contains 88-95% limonene and  studies show that limonene protects against pancreatic, stomach, colon, skin, and liver cancers. So you may want to add grapefruit to your diet as well!
