Use Pennies To Keep Cut Flowers Alive Longer

Having fresh flowers on the table or around the house can really brighten things up and make your house smell great. The only downside to having cut flowers is sometimes there life span can be short and the flowers can wilt quite quickly. But there is a way to keep them lasting longer with a simple form of currency.

Next time you bring home a bouquet of flowers throw a few pennies when you fill your vase with water.  The pennies act as  a natural antibacterial agent and keep the flowers blooming and alive for longer. Another tip that can help keep cut flowers alive is to re-cut the stems every couple days and placing the flowers in cold water!

Don’t forget to change the water daily too which will help (but add the pennies!).  😉
