How To Make Your Bathtub Sparkle
Cleaning the bathtub is dreaded chore for most of us, it can be awkward to get in the corners and really get it clean. Sometimes, you’ll find a cleaner that does a good job but what about making your own cleaning product? There is an easy, homemade solution to get your tub sparkling and clean! The best part is it doesn’t take too much scrubbing as the baking soda in the recipe takes over the work for you. Check out this great DIY below to get your bathtub sparkling:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Tsp Dawn Dish Soap (Adjust according to the size of your tub)
- 1/2 Cup of Baking Soda
- Warm Water
- Sponge or Scrubber of Your Choice
Instructions:
- Combine the warm water and baking soda paste to create a paste texture.
- Add dawn to mixture and stir well.
- Once you have reached the correct texture, scrub your entire bathtub with mixture.
- You shouldn’t have to scrub hard as the paste will work while you apply it and leave you with a sparkling bathtub!
When I first read the subject of the post, I thought you meant how to add glitter to your bath to make it sparkly. lol

Wow! We bought our house from my husband’s grandma and the tub was NASTY. I had tried and tried to clean it, but thought it was way beyond repair! This was a miracle! Is this a safe cleaner for Jett tubs?
This is a great cleaner for jetted tubs I use it for all my clients homes. And after scrubbing, fill the tub with hot water and add a gallon of vinegar. Then turn the jets on to clean out the water lines. WARNING: you may not want to use your tub after you see what comes out of the jets.
Works wonders. Probably need a second scrub in a few places, but really impressed.

Can this be used in fiberglass bathtubs?
I sprinkled about a 1/2 to 1 cup of morton salt over the floor of my tub. Then made the paste…. Omg!! What a difference!

Does this help a fiberglass tub/shower that has yellowed?

Adding peroxide helps whiten and disinfect as well.
