How To Remove Leather Scratches

Leather furniture is common in most households as it is a durable, family friendly material. But sometimes the worse can happen. Over time you might notice small scratches that turn into big scratches on your leather furniture, whether it be from rearranging the living room or living in a house with kids and pets. Luckily, there is a quick fix for leather scratches and most of these ingredients can be found in your own home! Check out the list below for instructions on how to remove leather scratches:

Items Needed:

  • Warm Water
  • Olive Oil
  • Soft Cloth
  • Paper Towel

  1. Start this process by wetting your cloth with warm water and rubbing over the small scratches. This will take away any cosmetic damage or dirt and it will make it easier to see where the deeper scratches are.
  2. Once the item has dried,  spot test a hidden area on the leather with the olive oil making sure the leather reacts well with the oil.
  3. Dip the soft cloth in a small amount of olive oil and rub any and all scratches in a circular motion. Let the oil soak into the leather for at least 2 minutes.
  4. Once the oil has had a chance to soak in, wipe off the excess oil and any leftover residue with paper towel.  Keep drying the furniture with the paper towel until no oil shows on the towel.
  5. Repeat as necessary.
