These Christmas tree rice krispies are super fun and cute to make! You can really use any candy you want as ornaments. I like having the kiddos help me with these because they really can’t mess up. These are great for parties, bake sales or just a fun treat for the kiddos on Christmas. Enjoy!

Krispie Treat Christmas Trees
INGREDIENTS:
- 6 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 10.5 oz Marshmallows
- Green Food Coloring
- 12 Miniature Reese’s Cups
- 1/3 cup M&M Minis
- 12 Candy Stars
- 3 cup Powdered Sugar
- 3 tbsp Milk
- 3 tbsp Corn Syrup
DIRECTIONS:
- To help in forming the cone shape, I took the foam that comes in a waffle cone pack to protect the cones and cut it to make a form to help shape the trees.
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium to large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
- Add enough food coloring to make mixture dark green (it will lighten when cereal is added).
- Remove from heat.
- Add the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until cereal is well coated.
- Allow to set about 4 minutes.
- Butter a your hands and form mixture into cone shapes.
- Place cones onto prepared pan.
- Allow to cool and firm up for several hours.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl until smooth.
- Transfer to piping bag or zippered bag to pipe onto cookies.
- Pipe like a garland around each tree.
- Space M&M minis like ornaments onto the garland.
- Pipe a dab of icing on top of tree to act as glue and attach star.
- Place a Reese’s upside down on pan. Pipe icing on it and place tree on top.
- Allow to set before serving.
Going to try these to take to work.
Thanks for this recipe
Looks like alot of fun to make and can’t wait to try them. I will use a sugar cone to make my tree and then do the rest like she says!
Can you go into more detail on how to form the mixture into cones? Thanks.
Just butter up your hands and shape a cone
i would like to know how to shape them.
How do you form the tree?
No 17 Place a Reese’s upside down on pan. Pipe icing on it and place tree on top.
WHAT IS A REESE?!! Thank you
Reese’s peanut butter cup – a miniature variety I would guess
I love this idea, and will be using it to make the trees for our gingerbread house this year! Usually we make green icing for the tree, but this is much cuter! Pinned, and will definitely be using!! Found on Motivation Monday – thanks for sharing.
Super cute idea for krispies! Going to try these at home for my son who LOVES them. 🙂
Thanks for sharing. I might try the metal cones I have for making pastry horns.
These are really cute! My mother-in-law made rice krispie treat pumpkins for Halloween and was hoping to do trees for Christmas. I’m going to be sharing this post with her!
How many trees would you say this recipe makes? I want to make these as quick holiday presents for friends and acquaintances. This plus a heartfelt card seems like a fantastic (and frugal) way to share holiday cheer! Thanks for sharing.
I was wondering the same. Approximately how many trees will one batch make?
Well it says 12 stars which are used as toppers so obviously 12
Oh my gosh, these are seriously adorable!!! And they look so delicious. Visiting from the Weekend Wind Down Link Party!
What a great Krispie Treat Christmas Tree! Thanks so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday this week. Hope you have a great weekend and come back soon!

Where can you buy the candy stars? I’ve never seen any
I believe that they are star sprinkles!
Does anyone else know what the stars are? I have never seen star sprinkles.
Hi! I wanted to make these for my speech team, so I was wondering how many servings does this recipe make?
Hi Sarah,
I have put this in a post tomorrow and used your photo and linked it back to you. I hope this is ok. If not let me know and I will take it down. Thanks Julie
What do you mean by “cut” the cone shape in the directions?
Trees are easy to make and kids had fun making them. Though the “garland came out runny and didn’t stick well to the Reese’s either. Not sure where I when wrong there but it was quite runny.
I was also wondering where to find the stars on top of the tree
do you put the Rice Krispies on the foam to help shape the trees ? I’m sorry a bit confused on how to shape them
