A Berry Power Smoothie is a Great Start to Your Day
I love to start my day with a flavorful Berry Power Smoothie, full of things to get my motor in gear for the day. Greek yogurt mixed with strawberries and blueberries are a good start to an average smoothie. But if it’s breakfast, you need more than just some yogurt and berries to keep you going! In our busy lives, we need something that not only wakes us up, but gives us the nutrition we need on the go.
Making Your Berry Power Smoothies Powerful
Pump up your energy with a little bit of protein powder in your Berry Power Smoothie. It gives you a boost to keep your energy going all morning, and thickens your smoothie a bit so it’s more like a milkshake. It also makes you feel a bit more full, so you can concentrate on what you’re doing, and not your growling stomach.
Adding Vitamins to Your Berry Power Smoothie
I love to round out my Berry Power Smoothie with some vitamins, and the easiest form I’ve found to use is Emergen-C type powder packets. If I’m feeling a little run down, or like I might be getting a cold, I add one to my smoothie in the morning to get a little extra vitamin C in my system, as well as some other great vitamins like B complex. Try as I might, I can’t quite get enough in through my diet so I boost it with something extra. The powder packets give your Berry Power Smoothie just a little bit of fizz, which is kind of fun in the morning!
- 1 C Greek yogurt
- 1 C strawberries, washed and cut into quarters
- 1/2 C blueberries, washed
- 1 scoop protein powder (optional)
- 1 packet Emergen-C (optional)
- Put everything in the blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately.
Make A Berry Power Smoothie for Breakfast or Lunch!
Are you a person on the go? You can make up the base for the Berry Power Smoothie, just the berries and yogurt, and take it to work, adding the powders when you are ready to drink it, if you like. This gives you the flexibility to have a Berry Power Smoothie for lunch if you are going to be too busy to take a lunch break. It’s also nice to make up a batch the night before, and have it ready when you are walking out the door in the morning.

1/2 C blueberries, washed
