Aren’t these Santa Cookies just so adorable?! Guess what I use to make the shape? Just a good ol’ heart cookie cutter (you can get a set of 3 HERE for just $2.59 + FREE shipping!). Then, you just turn them upside down and it makes for the perfect beard and santa hat! These are really fun to make with the kids and they taste delicious too. Enjoy!

Santa Sugar Cookies
(Yield about 24 cookies)

INGREDIENTS:

Cookies:

  • 3 cup Flour
  • 3/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup softened Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Milk

Icing:

  • 3 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 3 tbsp Corn Syrup
  • Red Food Coloring
  • 24 Red M&M Minis
  • 48 candy Eyes 2

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. 3
  2. Cream together butter and sugar.
  3. Add egg and milk and continue beating on low. 4
  4. Slowly add flour, and beat until mixture pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  5. Divide the dough in half.
  6. wrap each in waxed paper and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 375.
  8. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  9. Dust work area and rolling pin with powdered sugar.
  10. Roll out dough to 1/4″ thick.
  11. Cut into heart shapes and place on prepared sheet. 5
  12. Bake for 7-9 minutes or until edges are beginning to brown.
  13. Leave on sheet for 2 minutes before moving to wire rack to finish cooling.
  14. Mix powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl until smooth.
  15. Divide icing in half and color one half with red food coloring.
  16. Transfer each color to piping bag or zippered bag to pipe onto cookies.
  17. Turn heart upside down.
  18. Pipe red on top to make hat.
  19. Pipe White around bottom to make beard.
  20. Use white icing to glue down a red M&M for the nose and the two candy eyes.
  21. Allow that to dry for 10 minutes.
  22. Pipe red mouth between beard and moustache. 6
  23. Pipe a white band at bottom of hat and white ball at the top.
  24. Allow to sit for at least an hour for icing to get hard.

Eggnog Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

Cookies:

  • 2 1/4 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup softened Butter
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Eggnog

Icing:

  • 4 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Eggnog
  • 1/4 cup softened Butter
  • Nutmeg 1

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar together.
  5. Add egg yolks, vanilla and eggnog and beat until smooth.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until combined. 2
  7. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Place teaspoon sized balls of dough onto the prepared sheet. 3
  9. Bake for 18 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
  10. Place cookie on a wire rack to cool. 4
  11. Mix together powdered sugar, butter and eggnog until blended.
  12. Spread icing on cooled cookies and sprinkle with nutmeg.

These Christmas tree rice krispies are super fun and cute to make! You can really use any candy you want as ornaments. I like having the kiddos help me with these because they really can’t mess up. These are great for parties, bake sales or just a fun treat for the kiddos on Christmas. Enjoy!

Krispie Treat Christmas Trees

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 10.5 oz Marshmallows
  • Green Food Coloring
  • 12 Miniature Reese’s Cups
  • 1/3 cup M&M Minis
  • 12 Candy Stars
  • 3 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 3 tbsp Corn Syrup

DIRECTIONS:

  1. To help in forming the cone shape, I took the foam that comes in a waffle cone pack to protect the cones and cut it to make a form to help shape the trees.
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium to large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  4. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
  5. Add enough food coloring to make mixture dark green (it will lighten when cereal is added).
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Add the Rice Krispies cereal and stir until cereal is well coated.
  8. Allow to set about 4 minutes.
  9. Butter a your hands and form mixture into cone shapes.
  10. Place cones onto prepared pan.
  11. Allow to cool and firm up for several hours.
  12. Mix powdered sugar, milk and corn syrup in a bowl until smooth.
  13. Transfer to piping bag or zippered bag to pipe onto cookies.
  14. Pipe like a garland around each tree.
  15. Space M&M minis like ornaments onto the garland.
  16. Pipe a dab of icing on top of tree to act as glue and attach star.
  17. Place a Reese’s upside down on pan. Pipe icing on it and place tree on top.
  18. Allow to set before serving.
