Rainbow Fruit Skewers

Rainbow Fruit Skewers are full of nutrients, look gorgeous and taste great!

What I love about making Fruit Skewers is the kiddos enjoy eating them! It’s a great way to get picky little ones to eat their fruit. Since fruit is packed full of nutrients and antioxidants, this is something we definitely want them eating.

The kiddos can help make these just be careful they know the ends of the skewers are sharp.

Also, grab some plain yogurt with agave or honey mixed into it to dip these delicious treats in…it’s healthy and tastes great!

Rainbow Fruit Skewers Recipe

Ingredients

Be sure to Folllow Raining Hot Coupons on Pinterest for more RECIPES!
The amount of fruit you need really depends on how many skewers you want to make....but here is what I used:
Green grapes
Red grapes
Pineapple
Blueberries
Strawberries (cut in half)
Cantaloupe
Skewers

Instructions

To make it look like a rainbow, follow this pattern:
Put 2 Red Grapes on the skewer
Then 2 blueberries
Next is 2 Green grapes
Put on a chunk of pineapple
Then a chunk of cantaloupe
Last you will want to put half of a strawberry on (I use half because the large ones ten to be too big).
Optional - make a yogurt dip with plain yogurt and a little honey or agave mixed into it.

These 4th of July Fruit Skewers are perfect for a Summer party or 4th of July get together! The kiddos love them because they are fun to eat and they get a little healthy fruit in a yummy treat! You could always substitue the marshmallows for bananas and take out the light blue part of the flag and just purely use blueberries to make it extra healthy. 😉

These are fun for the kid’s to help make too!

4th Of July Fruit Skewers

Ingredients

{The amount of fruit varies depending on how big you want your flag but I will note the amount I used to make the flag in the picture}
24 whole Strawberries with stems cut off (you could cut the in half too and only need 12 strawberries to save a little money
20 Large Marshmallows
16 Blueberries
12 small marshmallows
Blue frosting (I use Duncan Hines frosting creations and cotton candy flavoring - the kids love this)

Instructions

Wash fruit
Cut stems off strawberries and leave whole (you can cut in half if you have less strawberries)
Follow the pattern in the picture and first start with a strawberry (stabbing in the center so they don't fall off)
Then stab a marshmallow followed by another strawberry and marshmallow
Then stab a blueberry
Next you will want to cover the small marshmallow in the blue frosting and stab it followed with a blueberry and keep repeating the pattern.
You can put these on a serving plate or cutting board and place in fridge until ready to eat. This keeps the frosting from melting too much!
