I just love coffee…I love it hot, warm, cold and sweet. This Vanilla Iced Coffee is the perfect combination. If you add a lot of ice cubes you will get a cool, refreshing drink or add less ice and you’ll get a warm, sweet drink. I honestly love to make this both ways but they best part is, the vanilla flavoring that makes it just the perfect sweetness. You can always add a little sugar if needed but I love it with just the vanilla syrup and a little cinnamon. Enjoy…

Vanilla Iced Coffee

(Print Recipe Below)

Ingredients:

  • 1 K-Cup or 1 Cup of Coffee
  • Ice Cubes
  • Milk or cream

Vanilla Simple Syrup (makes a large amount which can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks to use over and over again for more iced coffee drinks!):

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Prepare the Vanilla simple syrup – Bring sugar and water to a boil stirring until sugar dissolves, add in vanilla and let cool. You can keep this in the fridge for about 2 weeks if covered and use it for your iced coffee drinks throughout the week.
  2. Prepare a glass of coffee (I like to use 1 K-Cup)
  3. Fill a mug with ice cubes (I love using mason jars!) c5.jpg
  4. Pour the hot coffee over the ice c4.jpg
  5. Add milk or cream to taste c2.png
  6. Add vanilla syrup to taste

Love the recipe for vanilla iced coffee. It’s the only coffee that I truly like, TBH.

Would it be good to mix, 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar and then the vanilla (for the vanilla flavoring), for a creamier taste?

If you want a creamier taste, use half and half or light cream. You would run the chance of scalding the milk and burning the sugar if you weren’t careful, plus it wouldn’t be a syrup.

Can’t wait to try this recipe. Now that it’s finally warm enough for iced coffee. Thanks, Sarah!

How long do you have to let the hot syrup cool after you boil it.

Just to blood temperature (you can tell it’s blood temperature when you stick a clean finger in it and you can’t feel the liquid around it)

I just made this and it was good! A little goes a long way, though. It’s super sweet! It actually reminds me of the vanilla iced coffee at Chick-fil-a. Thanks for sharing the recipe/instructions.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is the vanilla, vanilla extract?

Could you substitute Splenda for sugar? If so, how much?

Can you give a ballpark starting point for how much milk/cream and how much of the vanilla syrup mix to add to one cup (8 oz.) of coffee?

Mine came out really bitter, even with alot of milk and syrup. How much water is supposed to be mixed with the 1 cup of coffee?

This sounds really good. But by using vanilla, is it vanilla essance or something else?

Doesn’t it water the drink down by pouring hot coffee over ice

Just a tip! If you want to add in sugar, add it to the hot coffee. It will be easier to dissolve than if you add it to the cold coffee!
